To: cb-hams Subject: CRES-ARC Meeting Minutes 16 Feb 2000 The Cres Amateur Radio Club held a brief meeting Wednesday 16 February 2000. The meeting was called to order at 11:40 by President Jerry Scott/K9RV, and people were invited to introduce themselves and tell whether they had attended the Mansfield hamfest last weekend, and what, if anything, they had acquired there. The Treasurer reported the Telhio account had a balance of $997.10, the petty cash fund had $23.61, and the CRES Club fee account contained $9.51, and he had $10 in undeposited funds. There was no report of the minutes from the prior meeting available. The first order of business was to discuss programs for future meetings. Jerry indicated he had several interesting programs on queue and described some of them. More information will be forthcoming, and people were solicited to provide other potential topics of interest. In new business, Art Grandle/KD8ZG announced that the next club VE session would be held Saturday, April 22. Due to anticipated strong demand after the FCC announced the restructuring of Amateur Radio license classes, this session will be open to pre-registered applicants only (no walk-ins) and limited to 35 people. In addition, the club will also conduct a exam session on Saturday August 5th at the Columbus Ham Fest (Aladdin Shrine Temple). Much discussion ensued about the new licensing rules and their impact on exams. The meeting was adjourned at 12 Noon. After the meeting, retired club members Dan Merrick/K8TX and Dave Blake/N4DB gave excellent talks and demonstrations of past-era bugs and antique telegraphy equipment they have acquired over the years. The talk/demo was enjoyed by all. Respectfully submitted, Rob Stampfli/KD8WK CRES-ARC Secretary/Treasurer
