The CRES Amateur Radio Club held a meeting over lunch on Wednesday, 06 December 2000. The meeting was called to order by President Jerry Scott/K9RV at 11:40 AM. Those in attendance were: K9RV, KD8ZG, KD8WK, KC8ORL, N8YXK, K8RSP, and WD8CZG. The Treasurer reported $910.46 was on deposit in Telhio, $23.61 in petty cash, $9.51 on deposit with the CRES Club, and $30 in undeposited dues. Dues for the 2001 calendar year are now being collected. The door code will be changed early next year, and only those renewing members will be eligible to access the club room. Jerry indicated the main purpose of this meeting was to elect officers for the upcoming year. This should have been done earlier, but the club has not met for several months. The following slate of officers were proposed, with all agreeing to serve: President: Gordy Lashley/WD8CZG Vice President: David Jeffords/KC8ORL Sec/Treas: Rob Stampfli/KD8WK Lab Manager: Jerry Scott/K8RV As there were no offices in contention, a motion was made to accept the slate by acclimation, and the motion carried. Art Grandle/KD8ZG indicated the club had conducted another successful Volunteer Exam session on 02 Dec. Twelve candidates were accomodated. Art also raised concerns that the voter on the W8ZPF repeater was not functioning properly: It appears to sometimes select sites that are noisy when others are not. Dave Woolf/K8RSP indicated he would contact the designer of the voter, Doug Hall, and see if we might arrange to swap it out with another unit to see if the problem was in our voter or elsewhere. Art also indicated that George Kinder had agreed to take over the club function of repairing radios for the Central Ohio Radio Reading Service for the blind. Rob Stampfli/KD8WK asked about the repeater antenna. The replacement coil for the antenna has arrived, but the repaired coil appears to be working fine, so there is no urgency to replace it. The tower has still not been grounded. Ron Frank/WB8PBU and the buildings people were to accomplish this task this fall, but we have not heard from the buildings people recently. Art will contact them to see where they stand. The meeting was adjourned at 12:25 PM. Respectfully submitted, Rob Stampfli/KD8WK CRES-ARC Secretary/Treasurer
