The Executive Committee of the CRES Amateur Radio Club met on 20 November 2002 at Donatos Pizza, Reynoldsburg. In attendance were Mike Stansbery/WD8EBS (President), Mike Rauh/NV7X (VP), Rob Stampfli/KD8WK (Sec/Treas), Art Grandle/KD8ZG (Station Trustee), and Dave Woolf/K8RSP (representing the nominations committee). The meeting was called to order by WD8EBS at 6:40 PM. The evening of Thursday, December 12, was selected as the date for our 4th quarter general meeting. NV7X will arrange a location, most likely at the Donatos in Reynoldsburg or Pickerington if a room at one of these locations can be secured. This will also be the election meeting for next year's officers. More information will follow. K8RSP indicated that the nominations committee has talked to David Jeffords/K8ON, and he has agreed to run for the position of President of the club. KD8WK has agreed to run again in the position of Secretary Treasurer. The committee has people in mind for Vice President and Laboratory Manager, but they have not yet been contacted. KD8WK reported that $3254.00 had been raised for the club by the equipment auction. Most of the proceeds have been deposited at Telhio, although some cash received has gone into the petty-cash fund. $2000 of the Telhio funds were used to buy CDs for the club. The current balances are: $2353.20 in Telhio savings, $2000 in Telhio CDs, and $129.00 in petty cash. KD8WK indicated that since there had been significant monitary events in the club this year and since it has been quite some time (if ever) since an audit of the club books has been held, that a committee should be appointed to inspect and audit the Treasurer's records. WD8EBS suggested the committee should be from outside the excomm. The Executive Committee agreed that such a committee would be appointed at the next general meeting. K8RSP indicated he has catalogued the tubes the club owns, and he estimates they would retail for about $3126, although we would only get a fraction of that if we sold them to a tube dealer. It was suggested we try offering them for sale at Dayton, with the first proceeds going towards paying for the flea market space. The remainder would go into the club's account. The Executive Committee agreed to this approach. KD8ZG suggested we try selling the more expensive items, that did not receive a bid in our auction, on Ebay. The Executive Committee agreed to try auctioning the Drake TR-6, the ICOM 471, and the ICOM 251 on Ebay, and Art agreed to handle this. The excomm will submit descriptions to Art, and he will give us the details for approval (such as reserve price, etc.) prior to placing the items on Ebay. K8RSP will take digital pictures for the equipment for the auction. KD8ZG or K8RSP will check out the equipment to verify it works and try to replace the dead memory-battery in the ICOM 251. KD8ZG indicated that since he was no longer affiliated with the facility where the repeater is located, we should consider transferring the station trusteeship to someone else, preferably someone still employed at the location. The Executive Committee voted to appoint NV7X as trustee and he agreed. Mike and Art will take care of the paperwork. The committee discussed a request by Gordy Lashley/WD8CZG to send the Web and email providers a donation. The committee agreed to recommend to the club at our next general meeting that both qsl.net and C&J Systems be given a $20 donation. The Executive Committee then reviewed the unbid items from the auction to determine their disposition: either (1) to be auctioned on Ebay, (2) to be sold at a hamfest, or (3) to be given away as door prizes at one or more future club meetings. We will allow interested members who have paid prior and current year dues to purchase an item at the minimum bid price anytime before they are disposed of. However, if there is more than one person interested in an item prior to the next general meeting, it will be auctioned there. 500 Drake TR6 6m Transceiver 500 Ebay 600 ICOM IC-471A 70cm Transceiver 270 Ebay 700 ICOM IC-251A 2m Transceiver 200 Ebay 800 Kenwood TM201B 2m Transceiver 75 Hamfest 900 Kenwood TM321A 220MHz Xcvr 100 Hamfest 1200 Yaesu FT-709R 70cm handheld 40 Hamfest 1600 Kantronics UTU-XT 10 Door Prize 1700 Kantronics KPC3 Packet Comm 10 Door Prize 1800 Kantronics Packet Comm 10 Door Prize 2200 Realistic PRO-2004 Scanner 80 Hamfest 2300 Radio Shack Audio Filter 10 Door Prize 2800 Heath HO-10 Monitor Scope 25 Hamfest 3400 MFJ 1270B/1274 TNC2 15 Door Prize 4000 PC Elect TVC-4G ATV Downconv 5 Hamfest 4100 Weller PU-1 Soldering Iron 5 Hamfest 5000 Tektronics 2101 Pulse Gen 10 Hamfest 5100 Tektronics 454A Scope 75 Hamfest 5600 Triplet 630A VOM 5 Door Prize 5720 Rohn Push-Up Vert Mast 20 Hamfest 1975 NA Radio-TV Station Guide 1 Door Prize 1987 World Radio TV Handbook 1 Door Prize 1968A Mobile Manual for Radio Ams 1 Door Prize 1965A1 The Radio Am VHF Manual 1 Door Prize 1972A2 FM&Repeaters for the Radio Am 1 Door Prize 1977 Color TV Theory and Servicing 1 Door Prize 1995A Repeater Directory 1 Door Prize 1965A2 SSB for the Radio Amateur 1 Door Prize 1970A SSB for the Radio Amateur 1 Door Prize 1993A Radio/Tech Modifications 1 Door Prize 1991A Now you are Talking 1 Door Prize 1985 CallBook - Foreign Listings 1 Door Prize *** Telex Hy-gain HDR-300 rotor head 50 Hamfest *** Not previously offered.
