Dave Woolf spoke for the repeater committee: The phone line was cut two weeks ago in the old clubroom. This was repaired, although we will try to get the phone line run directly to prevent this from happening again. The control receiver was also replaced, bringing the repeater back to its full functionality. Dave also reported the next VE exams will be held in December at the Parkview Presbyterian Church. The church will be doing some renovations this fall, but they are expected to be completed by December. Bill reported that his canvassing of the officers showed everyone willing to serve another term, but he stressed anyone in the club desiring to throw their hat into the ring should do so. He stated he had appointed Al Mecozzi/WA8LBZ, and Dan Merrick/K8TX, as the nominations committee. The elections will be held at our 4th quarter meeting. The door prizes were awarded by a random drawing, and won by K8LJ, K8ON, KD8BJ, KD8DVR, and W8AGS. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 PM, after which Mike Rauh gave a great talk on modern ham receiver design, including the advantages and disadvantages of single, double, and triple conversion receivers, the relative merits of various filters and their placement, and the integration of modern IF DSPs in modern receivers. Following Mike's talk, Al Mecozzi presented a special digital slideshow of our 2006 field day event. Respectfully submitted, Rob Stampfli/KD8WK
