Secretary KD8WK thanked K8AX for taking the April minutes in his absence. Treasurer W3CRZ reported the club had a net worth of $8462.72 and has 49 paid members. The treasurer's report was approved. KD8ZG reported for the VE team: The next CRES VE exam session will be on Saturday, August 2nd, at Columbus hamfest at the Aladdin Shrine Temple. VE examiners should meet for breakfast at the Bob Evans at Hamilton Rd and I-270. KD8ZG has 10 tickets which he will hand out at the breakfast and if you will be going directly to the exam site, you should contact him ahead of time to procure your ticket. KD8ZG also noted that the FCC had issued a rule change so that those who once held a ham license of General or Extra which has been expired for more than two years can have it re-issued by simply passing the current Tech exam. K8RSP reported he had visited the repeater site, examined the antenna and tower, and found them to be in good condition, although one guy had loosened and needed to be re-tightened. Also the circuit which produces the reset beep based on which receiver was being voted needed to be power-cycled. N8WL reported that the CRES web site is in good order and is up to date and thanked WD8TA for his hard work. K8LJ reported on Field Day plans and assignments. The planning is coming along well and it appears we are in good shape. The event will take place over the weekend of June 28-29 at Infirmary Mound Park near Granville. We will be able to gain access to the facility on that Friday. One potential problem is that the old barn, which partially burned last year, has not been repaired. N8WL reported there will be a club picnic on Saturday evening, with the club providing the meat dish (BBQ from Newark) and guests asked to bring an item to share. N8WL requested a headcount at the meeting and requests others who plan to attend contact him so that he knows how much food to purchase. The business portion of the meeting finished at 7:15 PM, after which K8AX introduced K8RSP who gave a detailed talk about the history, configuration, and operation of our W8ZPF repeater. Respectfully submitted, Rob Stampfli / KD8WK CRES-ARC Secretary
