The Treasurer reported the club currently has $7032.77 in its treasury and 43 paid-up members. KD8ZG reported the club's next VE exam session will be held on Saturday, August 6th, at the Columbus Hamfest at the new Aladdin Shrine Center, 1801 Gateway Circle, Grove City. He requests all applicants pre-obtain an FRN number before the exam date and bring it with them. A filled-out form 605 is not required, as the current software will produce one on site during registration. K8RSP reported the repeater has been experiencing strange problems involving sensitivity or maybe de-sense issues. This is under investigation. In addition, several newcomers have popped up on the machine who are not using good Amateur practice. K8RSP has shelved work on the Fusion project until after Field Day. There are still a few technical problems which need to be resolved before it can be placed on the air. K8LJ reported that the person responsible for our Echolink node is on vacation and the node has been turned down until he returns. Field Day Planning: + N8WL has agreed to be the overall coordinator for this year's event. + It was agreed that the club will provide the meat dish on Saturday evening from a local BBQ carryout, as we did last year for our Saturday banquet. Participants are encouraged to bring a side dish to share. + After much discussion, it was decided that we'll run two stations this year (class 2A-OH), in addition to the satellite station. One will operate from the judging booth and will be capable of running either Phone or CW. The other will operate from the Digital tent and be capable of operating all three modes. The barn will not be used. + Anyone desiring to do so can meet for breakfast at the local Bob Evans at 8:30 Saturday morning prior to set-up. + There is a new lock on the gate to the park. K8LJ can demonstrate how it works to anyone needing access. + K8LJ reports the grounds have been freshly mowed and look good. As the person in charge of the weather, he promised us hot but dry conditions. N8WL then went through his Field Day checklist and notes, including which extra-point options we were going to try to obtain. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM, after which WA8LBZ presented a slide show of the 2006 Field Day held at the home of Mike Rauh. N8WL then ran an inspiring video of a speech delivered by ARRL 1st VP Rick Roderick, K5UR, in Hartford, CT, two years ago, on the impact the ham radio hobby has had on him as a youth and over the years. Respectfully submitted, Rob Stampfli, KD8WK CRES-ARC Secretary
