The Treasurer reported we now have 62 paid members and $6,659.07 in our treasury. Committee Reports: Repeater: Our repeater trustee was not present, but the membership indicated the repeater was performing satisfactorily. N4DLR said that Echolink was working fine. New Business: WA8LBZ announced that Doug Gibbs, W8NFT, had moved back to the Dayton area. N4HAI said we need to start addressing the club's Field Day activities earlier in the year, although not at this meeting. Several members voiced comments about preparing a lawn mower for winter storage. N4DLR announced that the following officers had been elected (via earlier email balloting) for the Club's 2018 term: Vice President: Tom Foy, N4HAI Secretary: Alicia Ward, KE8CRL Treasurer: Bob Cartwright, W3CRZ Nominations for President were solicited from the floor with no one volunteering, so the post remains unfilled. The next meeting will be on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the New Albany library. People who had brought boat anchors were given the opportunity to tell the story behind their boat anchors. The meeting was adjourned at 7 PM, after which Dave Brown, K3CTN, gave an insightful talk on the subject of Loaded and Trapped antennas. These will be the last set of club minutes I author as club Secretary. On January 1, this role will pass to the capable hands of Alicia Ward, KE8CRL, and I will retire. The transition is a bitter sweet one for me, as I have been the club Secretary since 1991, and have served as a Club officer in some capacity continually since 1986. But, it's time to turn the reigns over to some new blood. I do however look forward to rejoining the ranks of the unelected members and serving the club in that capacity. And, as always, I wish the club continued success in all its future endeavors. Respectfully submitted, Rob Stampfli / KD8WK CRES-ARC Secretary
