Treasurer's Report Balance on hand $6736.19 2019 Paid members 41 Repeater We received a report from the FCC liaison in Maryland stating that John Glenn airport was experiencing interference from our repeater again. A short recording was sent but not conclusive that it was our repeater. They did indicate it was a different frequency than the last time this problem occurred, though it was close. They operate in the 125 - 130 MHz area. Nothing on the recording identified it as our repeater, just a call sign of a gentleman from Canal Winchester and the name John. In addition to the above-mentioned interference Dave received an email for a gentleman at Norfolk and Southern Railroad stating that one of their marshalling yards is hearing our repeater ID. They operate at 160 MHz. Dave is not sure what could be causing this but will be investigating to find the cause. The repeater may be off and on at different times until the source of the problem is located and repaired. It is difficult to do any testing as we have to get the airport to shut down the radios while we test. We also still have Squirrel issues. A lot of speculation as to whom and where but nothing definitive so if you hear him/her and can change to the input frequency quickly please let us know if you hear it on the input. VE Report Art received a call from OSU about helping with a test session. They provided 3 VE and we provided 3 for a test session there on April 2. 12 people showed up and 10 Technician licenses were issued. We had a test session on Saturday April 6 at the Parkview Presbyterian Church. 14 people preregistered 11 people showed up for testing. 1 upgrade to Extra Class 2 upgraded to General class and 8 new Technicians. Next test session will be July 6. Field Day Still need a Field Day Chairperson. Good news they are not going to charge us site rental this year for FD. They are charging for the use of the shelter house for Saturdays dinner but that is only $45 a savings of over $200 from previous years. We now have a nice new tent shelter to use for the CW station. Thanks to W9ARD, it is a 10 x 12 self-supporting screened shelter with a built in floor and side walls. The next meeting is June 20 at the Reynoldsburg Library located at 1402 Brice Rd, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. Meeting time is the same as usual, the business meeting starts at 6:45PM followed by a presentation. Join us early for a bring your own dinner and fellowship. This months presentation was by George Foy N4DLR about the restoration of a boat anchor radio and the publishing of an article about the restoration in QST. Thank you all for attending the meeting.
